Health Tip

Canada spent an estimated $10.4 billion in 1993 on injuries.

One of every four accidents occurs in the workplace: 98% of these accidents result in injury and 95% of those accidents result in activity loss. Human Resources Development Canada reported that in 1993 one in every 13 workers was injured, 733 employees fatally. Research shows that 90% of injuries are preventable. Injuries cause suffering to employees, are costly to the employer and place a burden on Canadian taxpayers.
